Major Update!

Posted March 20th, 2011 in Site Related

Major Update!Just did a MAJOR update on the site.  I think it was something like 25 new tattoos and 3 new paintings. It’s been a while. I’m really going to try to stay on top of this update thing, but we’ll see how that goes. I’ve been tattooing a LOT lately so I haven’t had that much time to paint, but with my girlfriend starting her new job with new hours, I should have time to paint some more. From now on I plan to try and post most of the tattoos. A lot of the people I’ve tattooed lately are repeat customers, and I get to know these people pretty well, so i think they’d like to see individual posts about their tattoos, so from now on, That’s what I plan to do.

Also I’d like to thank everyone who’s been tattooed by me lately.  I’ve been in Jacksonville for the better half of a year, now and I’ve been having a LOT of repeat clients, many of whom have been driving down from Georgia. Thanks to all of you for making the drive, and I’ll continue to make sure it’s worth your drive!  Also thanks to all of you sending more people in! I’ve been getting a lot busier a lot quicker than I thought i would and I’d like to make sure all of my friends and clients know I greatly appreciate their support. I know it’s your recommendations and positive word of mouth that’s keeping me busy, so thanks!

After Tax Season dies out and we slow down some I’ll have more time to paint, and then I’ll be setting up a store on the site, so I can sell (and you can buy) my paintings.

Free Tattoo Tuesday!

Posted March 20th, 2011 in Shop Related, Tattoo Related

FREE TATTOO TUESDAY!Mostly every week at Black Hive Tattoo we do Free Tattoo Tuesday! Started by James Cumberland, and the rest of us jumped in on the fun.  The idea is every Sunday, we post up images of the free tattoos. Each artist supplies 1 design.  Once you decide which one you would like, you come into the shop, located at 2063 Gilmore St. Jacksonville. FL 32204, and write your name on the entry slip, and place it in the jar of the artist you choose.  On Friday each artist draws a name, and we contact the winner.  If you do not respond by 4 Saturday, you forfeit your tattoo.  All tattoos will be done on arms or legs, and you need to be free for Tuesday. So if you want one on your ribs on a Thursday, you’re shit outta luck! Go to the Free Tattoo Tuesday! Link on Facebook and “Like” the page for updates.

Rules:

-Must come into the shop to enter your name. You cannot have someone else do it for you.

-You can only enter one entry slip, for one design.

-If you do not win, you are free to enter again next week.

-If you do win, you may enter again next week, but may not enter for same artist for 6 months.

-If your name is drawn, you have until 4:00pm Saturday to contact your artist to set up a time.

-You MUST be free on Tuesday, unless Artist specifically sets another day, due to unavailability on Tuesday.

-The design is as is. If you want to change something, you may as well pay for the whole tattoo. If you do not like the design as is, do not enter your name.

-All Designs are to be done on an arm or a leg.  (No elbows, or knees, though)  If you do not have any open space on your arms or legs, you may talk to your artist before entering your name, and they will let you know if you can enter your name to have the tattoo done elsewhere.

-If you fail to follow any of the rules, your name will be forfeit from the drawing and you cannot win.

-If you ignore too many of the rules, we may decide to disqualify you from any or all future drawings as well. So please do not enter if you do not understand the rules. These are free tattoos, afterall.

Working Hard

Posted January 2nd, 2011 in Site Related

Been working at Black Hive Tattoo in Jacksonville, FL for a few months now, and I think I’ve been more productive than ever.  Business is a little slower, because of moving to a new area, and trying to build a new clientele, but my old friends and clients from Georgia have been incredibly loyal and have been keeping me above water.  So thank you guys. But the down time has also given me a LOT of time to do other things. Only now, instead of playing on the computer, I paint, draw, or read anything i feel can help me better myself in this business.  Gary has also been working his ass off as well, and it’s motivating being in a shop where everyone is busy trying to get shit done.

Been trying to stay busy, and hopefully I will. So far, so good. And since it’s now the New Year, I would like to thank everyone who got tattooed in 2010, and I cannot wait to meet those of you who plan on getting tattooed in 2011.

Getting Started.
